Swan Lake Day!

My email to Baya to recount my thoughts:

I just got back from seeing Nina Ananiashvili in Swan Lake.  It was unbelievable.  She is just such a suberb dancer, and honestly I think she is dancing better now than the DVDs from class.  She is just so technically gifted - and those ARMS!  Her swan arms are even more impressive in person.  It was like she had no bones.

Her Act II pas de deux with Corella was absolutely breathtaking.  She hit every nuance in the choreography and her musicality is untouched.  The petite battements towards the end on the trills in the music were so rapid it was like her leg was the music.  I got very choked up when they ended.  She had three curtain calls for that - and ten more at the end of the show!  Her black swan was stunning as well - she did a lot of really great angular motions to differentiate the two swans and her fouettee sequence was astounding - she started with fouettee-fouette-double and then switched to simple fouettes.  During the black swan pas de deux she did one partnered spin with 12 rotations.

Corella was of course amazing as well.  His ability to jump is great, with some serious hang time in the air - just as light as a feather.  His spins too were amazing - ripping off 10 rotations with ease.  He did slip his grip catching Ananiashvili when she was coming out of a pique turn sequence, but she is so centered she saved and he grabbed her.  I must confess, Ananiashvili was so astounding I had to remind myself to watch Corella every once in awhile as well!

It was so wonderful to see Swan Lake in person again after watching it and studying it for so long.  It's seeing the ballet when I realize just how much I really learned with you.

Amazing amazing.  Plus I saw Julie Kent walking into the theater - every bit as awestruck as when I saw Victoria Beckham.  My eyes got as wide as saucers and I stopped dead in my tracks.  She is sooooo beautiful!!

Makes me giggle

April 28th, 2008 (08:48 pm)

I just joined GA-basement (or something like that).

Um, can we say best community EVER?  Bad Merder fanfic frustrates me, and these people share all the same opinions!  Eventually, I will be contributing my post about one super annoying fanfic I'm reading (why I'm not sure) on fanficnet.  Eventually - but it was about a year ago I said I'd start writing GA fanfic and that has yet to happen.

In short, I'm content to read.

I am pleasantly surprised and pleased with the new Grey's eppy!

- Meredith is in therapy!  Hopefully shes really talks next episode.
-Derek has NOT slept with Rose!!  Woot woot!
-Mark is amazing - supporting Mer/ down with the plant
- Mer/Der trial study!  Mer is becoming amazing neuro person with Derek.

Previews look excellent - Addi pushing Mer to Derek.  Pray to God it happens soon.  I completely understand the need to phase out the plant, but let's get to the greatness.

So last night was amazing.  Our seats were incredible.  The Spice kids were in front of us.  We saw Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, Beau, Phoenix and Angel.  We just didn't see Bluebell.  Oh well.  We have an incredible shot of Angel with Stephen, Mel's husband.  Too bad David wasn't there!!  We would have seen him!!  The show, I can't even sort it in my head.  It was so amazing to see all five of them.  So amazing.  Yesterday was the best day of my life thus far.  I'm coming down from the high now, which sucks, but yesterday was fan-bloody-tastic.  I love the Spice Girls, I do I do I do.

2 hours ago I met Victoria Beckham.  Face to face.  She said Hello, how are you.  I said good.  She gave me an autograph.  She is stunning.  I met a Spice Girl.  I'm like in shock.  This was an absolute dream come true.  The people at Saks cut the line off right behind me, and I was absolutely shaking when I got to the front of the line.  Her handlers were like, it's ok, calm down.  I'm the happiest person in the world.  I can't believe it happened, this was an absolute dream come true.  Tonight is the concert!!  I'm so excited and can't wait.  I have waited forever, my whole Spice life to see all five of them in concert.  This is like a freaking dream. AHHH!!  Happiest girl in the world right now.

Well apparently I am 11 years old again.

Because I am going to see the Spice Girls, and I could'nt be happier for it.

How is it that so little in that respect has changed in 10 years?  February 13, I will be at Continental Arena to see all FIVE Spice Girls.  Last time at Jones was just the four of them.  I feel like life has come full circle and this fanatic will get her dream come true.  I will scream my head off, buy oodles of souveniers and have an amazing time.
